Hervey Bay State High School has four school houses (MOONBI, BADJALA, TOOLEWAH, CABBIE-ABBIE). These names come from the rich Indigenous culture from the Fraser Coast and surrounding areas. Moonbi, Toolewah and Cabbie-abbie were introduced at the opening of our school in 1964, with Badjala being added in 1978.
